April Terra Livingston is a sculptor, photographer, scenic artist, and college professor/consultant.

When April approached me about working on this project, she said she wanted to present her multiple interests and activities in a way that was professional and cohesive. She expressed a desire to stay away from the usual ‘white cube’ aesthetic that is common in fine arts, and said she wanted something that better expressed her personality.

One of her goals with this site was also to highlight her interest in helping to lead more community-based arts projects where she can combine her artistic, activist and leadership skills.

To showcase the range in April’s work, in a way that was clear and relevant to her multiple audiences (higher education colleagues and students; local and international arts organizations, scenic designers in the film industry, collectors and art enthusiasts), we streamlined the content around those audiences.

Visually, I took cues from April’s own focus on metal casting, her fine art photography, and her social media images, to hone in on her interest in color, collage, and textures to create layered designs with touches of animation and bright color.
